Akure, Nigeria
MCI actively supported investment-related activities in Akure, in partnership with both KPMG Nigeria and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), both of which have published the results of their research. Together with The Economist Conferences, MCI presented a panel focused on investment opportunities in Ondo State as part of a national investment forum in Abuja in early 2007. In early 2011 MCI organized a second investment workshop, focused on capacity building, as well as training workshops on conducting Millennium Development Goal-based needs assessments in the social sector, for the purpose of determining and monitoring the progress of the City of Akure, in its efforts to attain the MDGs.
